Recovering from depression is not going to be easy, instant, or even guaranteed at all. There are ways, though, to make the best of your condition. Depression is different for everyone, as are the circumstances, but you can beat the feelings that depression brings. If you think you have depression, talk to your doctor. If they don't treat you the way you would like, keep searching. Find the doctor that is right for you, and if need be, a specialist/therapist. You're going to have to give this process time. When you find the right doctor, and are prescribed to the right medication that brings the relief you've been searching for, then it's time to focus on your well-being. There are multiple ways to keep yourself occupied, distracted, and happy. Try picking up new hobbies, or choose from the following.

- Eat healthy/healthier
- Create a balanced sleep schedule
- Spend time outside, in the sun
- Join a support group
- Make new friends
- Pick up yoga, or meditation
- Keep a journal
- Antidepressants
